This page lists what is actually documented about Dubai’s air-taxi network geography: which vertiports are announced, what state each is in, and which flight times have been demonstrated rather than promised. The four launch locations — Dubai International (VDX), Dubai Marina, Dubai Mall and Palm Jumeirah — come from the RTA and are confirmed in The National’s report on the VDX certification. Per the RTA, the Dubai Marina vertiport ‘will be developed at Dubai Marina, within the American University in Dubai parking area, managed by Wasl Asset Management Group’. Current status

As of 22 August 2026, Dubai’s air taxi service has not launched. The first vertiport (VDX at Dubai International) was GCAA-certified on 7 July 2026 — the first certificate of its kind in the world — and Joby has said it expects to carry its first passengers before the end of 2026. Frequently asked questions

What routes will Dubai’s air taxi fly?

The launch network connects four announced vertiports: VDX beside Dubai International Airport, Dubai Marina (American University of Dubai site), Dubai Mall and Palm Jumeirah (Atlantis The Royal). Specific scheduled city routes have not been published yet.

How long will flights take?

The only measured point-to-point flight took 17 minutes, from Margham to Al Maktoum International on 9 November 2025. The RTA has indicated a DXB-Palm Jumeirah journey of roughly 10-12 minutes; that has not yet been demonstrated.

Which vertiports are actually built?

One: VDX at Dubai International reached technical completion on 16 April 2026 and was GCAA-certified on 7 July 2026 — the world’s first certified purpose-built commercial vertiport. Dubai Marina is under construction; Dubai Mall and Palm Jumeirah are announced.

Can the air taxi fly to Abu Dhabi?

Not in the launch network. The four announced sites are all within Dubai. Abu Dhabi is building a separate network around Archer Aviation and Abu Dhabi Aviation, covered in our Abu Dhabi entries.

Is any route flying today?

No commercial route is operating as of 22 August 2026. Service is expected to begin before the end of 2026, starting from VDX.

The DXB→Palm Jumeirah time is an expectation stated around the RTA’s November 2025 announcements, not a measured flight; the only measured time is Margham→DWC (17 min).
