About
This page exists because the most-searched question about Dubai’s air taxi — what will it cost? — currently has no official answer, and the vacuum has been filled by invented numbers. Everything below is a dated, sourced statement from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Joby Aviation, or Uber. When a fare is announced, this page will carry it with the announcement date and source.
What is on the record: on 20 November 2025, Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the RTA’s Public Transport Agency, told Gulf News that pricing had not been decided, that the service ‘will be cheaper than helicopters today in Dubai’, and that ‘the aim and the vision is for it to eventually, after a few years, be equivalent to almost an Uber or Careem trip in the city’ — adding that economies of scale and improving technology are expected to bring prices down over time. Key facts
The ‘AED 350’ figure — status: unsourced
A launch fare of ‘AED 350’ (sometimes ‘AED 350 for a 15-minute flight’) circulates on aggregator and SEO sites. We searched for a primary source — an RTA statement, a Joby or Uber publication, or a named-official quote in the mainstream Gulf press — and found none as of 22 August 2026. It also contradicts the RTA’s own 20 November 2025 statement that no price had been decided. [gulf-news-2025-11-20] Until a fare appears in a primary source, treat any specific number as invented. This section will be corrected the day that changes.
Current status
As of 22 August 2026, Dubai’s air taxi service has not launched. The first vertiport (VDX at Dubai International) was GCAA-certified on 7 July 2026 — the first certificate of its kind in the world — and Joby has said it expects to carry its first passengers before the end of 2026.
