About

The Abu Dhabi ↔ Dubai eVTOL route is a planned inter-emirate corridor announced 11 March 2024 by Archer Aviation and Falcon Aviation. The two endpoints, both existing Falcon-operated heliports, are the Marina Mall heliport on Abu Dhabi's Corniche and Falcon Heliport at Atlantis the Palm in Dubai. The route would operate almost entirely over water in Archer's Midnight piloted eVTOL.

Archer states the flight could clock in at as little as 30 minutes versus a road journey of more than two hours during peak traffic. As of November 2025, Archer had completed an in-country flight test campaign in Abu Dhabi with Midnight, performed under the supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) and in coordination with the GCAA. Archer's commercialisation in Abu Dhabi is structured under its "Launch Edition" programme with Abu Dhabi Aviation as the operations partner, supported by ADIO. Commercial service on this corridor has not started.

Note: Within the emirate of Abu Dhabi, ITC has separately announced an emirate-wide network of more than 10 vertiport sites. Specific intra-Abu-Dhabi routes connecting those sites have not been individually defined in primary Archer or ITC publications as of May 2026; the inter-emirate Abu Dhabi ↔ Dubai corridor is the most concretely defined named Archer route to date.

How to get there

By metro

There is no metro service to Marina Mall Corniche or Atlantis the Palm. Access to both vertiport endpoints is by road or, in the case of Atlantis, via the Palm Monorail.

By car

Marina Mall Corniche is on Abu Dhabi's Corniche Road, accessible from Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Road (E11). Atlantis the Palm sits at the apex of Palm Jumeirah, accessed via the Palm trunk and Crescent Road.

From the airport

From Dubai International Airport, the Falcon Heliport at Atlantis the Palm is approximately 35 km by road. Falcon Aviation also operates helicopter shuttles to/from this terminal.

Regulatory status

Operations on this corridor would fall under the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE for airworthiness, with operational coordination by the Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) on the Abu Dhabi side and the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) on the Dubai side. Archer's regulatory work in the UAE includes a GCAA hybrid vertiport framework approval for the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal at Zayed Port and similar planned conversion at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. As of May 2026, Archer's Midnight is undergoing FAA Type Certification with parallel UAE pathway work.

Current progress

Archer announced completion of an in-country eVTOL flight test campaign in Abu Dhabi on 14 November 2025, demonstrating Midnight's full flight envelope (vertical takeoff, transition, wingborne flight) in UAE conditions. ADIO has activated Archer's investment framework and Abu Dhabi Aviation has begun receiving Launch Edition payments. Pilot training is being matured through Etihad Aviation Training. Commercial service on the Abu Dhabi ↔ Dubai corridor itself has not been launched and an operational date has not been announced.
